Job Description:
The Great Basin Institute is looking for a highly motivated Financial Assistant to join our multi-disciplinary team.  The Financial Assistant reports to the Financial Manager and is responsible for all payables and receivables at the Institute.  This position may also be responsible for administrative support when time permits.

Job Duties: 
  • Responsible for reviewing, entering, and paying all invoices
  • Record all incoming receivables in a timely manner
  • Maintain monthly bank account reconciliations
  • Assist with monthly cost allocations
  • Maintain all vendors files and records
  • Provide supporting documentation for audits
  • Reconcile Accounts on a monthly basis
  • Assist with compilation and analysis of month and annual financial statements
  • Collaborate with program directors to create and analyze annual budgets
  • Assist the financial team with other tasks as necessary

 

Contract Timeline:
Start Date is Flexible and position will remain open until filled

Location:
This position will be based from Great Basin Institute's headquarters located at 16750 Mt. Rose Hwy, Reno NV 89511.

Compensation and Benefits:
o Rate of Pay: $43,000 - $48,500 annually DOE
o Full Time, 40 hours per week

Job Qualifications:
Qualifications:
o Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures
o A fundamental understanding of general ledger work, budgeting, AP, AR, and bank reconciliations
o Proven proficiency using MS Office applications
o 1-3 years’ experience in similar role
o Associates degree or higher 
o Environmental and Nonprofit Industry experience or knowledge preferred but not required
